In 2024 Jeliatola celebrated the 87th year of its sarbojanin puja. Thank you to everyone who came to see the nine forms of Ma Durga with us.

Dates for Durga Puja 2024

Debipaksha began with Mahalaya on 2 October. The goddess was with us from Maha Shashthi on 9 October until Bijoya Dashami on 12 October.

Our 87th sarbojanin puja

The worship of Naba Durga began in 1932 in the family shrine of Sri Hemchandra Bhattacharya. In 1938 Sandhani Athletic Club of Jeliatola opened the puja to the whole neighbourhood. Counting from that first sarbojanin puja, Durga Puja 2024 was our 87th.
